Must involve a licensed physician to ensure AED compliance.

CPR/AED Training

AED/CPR training is expected for anticipated AED users.

EMS Notification

Those obtaining an automated external defibrillator are required to notify an agent of the emergency communications or vehicle dispatch center about the AED's existence, location, and type.

Maintenance

The defibrillator must be maintained and tested following the manufacturer's operational guidelines.

Notification of Use

Anyone providing emergency care using an automated external defibrillator must activate the EMS system immediately and report any clinical use of the device to the licensed physician or other authorized personnel overseeing the program.
