Physician
A licensed physician in Mississippi must oversee the individual using the AED to ensure compliance with training, EMS notification, and maintenance requirements.
CPR/AED Training
The individual using the AED must have received proper training in CPR and AED usage from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, or another nationally recognized CPR and AED course.
EMS Notification
Any individual providing emergency care using an AED must activate the EMS system promptly and report any clinical use of the AED to the licensed physician.
