CPR/AED Training
Expected users must complete CPR/AED training certified by a nationally recognized organization.
EMS Notification
The AED must be registered with the local EMS system hospital overseeing its utilization, training, and maintenance. Those in possession of an AED should inform the local emergency communications or vehicle dispatch center about its existence, location, and type.
Maintenance
The AED must be maintained and tested in compliance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Notification of Use
Anyone providing out-of-hospital emergency care with an AED must promptly activate the EMS system and report any clinical use of the device.
