CPR/AED Training

Individuals using an automated external defibrillator are strongly encouraged to obtain proper training, which may include CPR certification or completion of a first aid course with CPR training and demonstrated proficiency in AED use.

EMS Notification

It is recommended that individuals or entities with an AED inform and register with the local emergency medical services medical director regarding the AED's existence and location.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance and testing of the AED must be conducted as per the manufacturer's guidelines.

Notification of Use

Users of an automated external defibrillator should activate the EMS system immediately after using the device.
