EMS Notification
Local boards of health, community organizations, or cities seeking an AED program grant must notify local EMS service programs before establishing an early defibrillation program.
Maintenance
The individual or entity responsible for the AED must maintain and inspect it following the manufacturer’s guidelines. Keep records of all maintenance and inspections for the AED's usable life. Program the AED to align with nationally accepted guidelines for treating cardiac arrest patients.
