Customizing AED Inspection Notifications
In order to be covered by the Good Samaritan Law, it is important to follow AED manufacturers’ recommendation. Most manufacturers recommend a simple, routine inspection of your AEDs.
AEDSafetrack™ offers an optional monthly inspection email reminder that allows you to choose your preferred date of notification.
To customize this notification, click your User Name in the right corner of the ribbon at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear, click My Account.
On the My Accounts page, click the Notification Settings tab.
In the Monthly Inspection/Verification Settings field, click whether or not you wish to receive notifications to complete monthly inspections and verifications. Use the Day Drop Menu to select the day of the month you wish to receive these notifications.
You also have the option to be notified via email of any past due inspections. Information regarding past due inspections can be viewed on the Reports page.
Additionally, AEDSafetrack lets you document completion of monthly AED inspections, and tracks, indefinitely, an ongoing log.
From your dashboard, click the AED icon in the left corner of the ribbon on the top of your screen.
On the AEDs page, select each AED in your organization by clicking on the square checkbox to the left of the information listed. Next, in the Actions tab, click Inspect/Verify Selected AEDs, then click Apply. If you have multiple AED units to inspect, this documents their completed inspection simultaneously.
You have the option to write a note regarding the inspection, or simply click Skip Notes, and AEDSafetrack captures your name and the date the AED Units were inspected. A verification note appears to confirm “you have successfully inspected AED(s)”.
